The People’s Key is the seventh studio album by Bright Eyes, the Nebraska band of Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis, and Nate Walcott. It was released on February 15, 2011, Conor Oberst’s birthday, on Saddle Creek Records. Have a listen to the lead track, “Shell Games.”

The Blue Effect is based in the Detroit area. All members currently attend my alma mater, Michigan State University. The band has just finished thier newest EP, Wired to Groove, featuring the single “Chiang Mai.” It has been played on Ann Delisi’s Detroit radio program on 101.9 FM.

French music site La Blogothèque’s self-produced Take Away Shows feature exclusive, unedited footage of top indie artists performing in public places. The latest is Local Natives with a rewritten version of “Who Knows, Who Cares” performed near the Palais Royal.
