The Gaslight Anthem is a Punk-rock band from New Jersey made up of frontman Brian Fallon, base player Alex Levine, drummer Benny Horwitz, and guitarist Alex Rosamilia. If you saw Against Me! when they came around at the tail end of their tour with the Foo Fighters you were lucky enough to see these guys as the supportive opening act. If you missed it, all you punk rock fiends can catch them on tour with Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, and Trice. Those in Houston can see it October 27th at the Verizon Wireless Theatre.

Anyway, the new album is called The 59 Sound as it is reminiscent of the 1950s and 1960s with its use of soul and blues. It was released last Tuesday, August 19, 2008. It’s the second full-length album following Sink or Swim from 2007 and the Señor and the Queen EP from February of 2008. Here’s the official video for the title track.
