“Streets” by Rooftop Runners

Hailing from Berlin, Germany, Rooftop Runners (RTR) offer an alternative/powerpop/trip-pop style. Their EP, We Are Here, will be released on April 3, 2012.

RTR are Canadian singer-songwriter brother duo Benedikt and Tobias MacIsaac. With a growing local fan base and the beginning of a European Tour, “RTR has arrived and they are here to stay.” Keep an eye out for the full length debut album also due in 2012.

“Arsonist Blues” by Patrick Joseph

Patrick Joseph is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After being part of various bands, Joseph found his own path as a solo artist at the age of twenty-one. His demos received positive reviews from social networking sites, which inspired him to release a compilation of demos in 2007 entitled The Basement Tapes EP. In the fall of 2008, he moved to Los Angeles, California.

A gifted composer, arranger, songwriter, performer and producer, Joseph records his own material. In November 2010, he released his debut full-length album Antiques. On November 22nd, 2011, Joseph released an EP entitled Relics, an acoustic interpretation of select tracks from Antiques. Currently, he has his sights set on tracking his second full-length studio album entitled Moon King.

“A Native (Madison)” by Canon Blue

Indie-folktronica group, Canon Blue (also referenced here), released their sophomore album Rumspringa in August. The album was produced by American Singer-Songwriter, Daniel James, and the Denmark-based label, Rumraket. James wrote the record while touring with Danish band Efterklang. Orchestral arrangements for Rumspringa were recorded by the Icelandic string band, Amiina (associated with their work with Sigur Rós).

Catch Canon Blue on tour with MuteMath and The Boxer Rebellion through mid-May 2012. On drums is Michigan-native, Nashville-based, Graham Bechler (Andrew Belle, Church Mice).

“Neurogenesis” by Monks of Mellonwah

Indie/alternative rock quartet, Monks of Mellonwah, from Sydney, Australia have announced they will team up with renowned engineer Howie Weinberg (Nirvana, RHCP, Soundgarden) for the mastering of their upcoming 2012 release.

It will be a follow-up to their debut EP Stars are Out. Their music video for “Swamp Groove” took 1st prize at the Howard’s Shorts short film festival, and the Monks will be featured in a forthcoming documentary on ABC’s RAGE.

“My Soul” by Ugly Kids Club

Ugly Kids Club is an electronic rock duo out of Nashville who just released their self titled debut album on January 10th. The duo is made up Steve Wilson (The Juliana Theory and Jonezetta) and Aleigh Shields. Wilson is also a Grammy Nominated producer/songwriter who has worked primarily with the artists Juliana Theory and Jonezetta. The duo teamed up in early 2011.
