“Two Can Play” and “Day To Day” by Eulogies

My efforts to find you a good live video of Eulogies’ “Day to Day” failed. The song is from thier second album, Here Anonymous, and is part of the Leap Year Soundtrack.

So, from the same album, here is a video of “Two Can Play.” I have also included an embedded mp3 Of “Day To Day.”

“Norway” by Beach House

The free mp3 download from iTunes this week is “Norway” by Beach House. Teen Dream is their third studio album to release, officially, on January 26, 2010. My favorite commentary so far is the following:

“…Victoria Legrand’s gorgeous voice, remains. Her vocals slash through layers of production as Legrand makes sedate references to lonely hearts. She calls out endlessly to Norway as if it were a long-lost lover, until the song heaves its last breath” ~ NPR All Songs Considered

“Stay Zombie Stay” by Elvis Perkins in Dearland

EPID just posted this session recording for “Stay Zombie Stay” from their Doomsday EP, which was released October 20, 2009. Lake Fever Sessions, located on Nashville’s Music Row, has teamed up with a musician-run video production company and have been offering these sessions for the past year. Lake Fever Sessions only has 51 followers on Twitter!

“Rave On” by M. Ward (feat. Zooey Deschanel)

I’ve been sleeping under a rock! The Music File just informed me that M. Ward and Zooey Deschanel’s version of Buddy Holly’s song “Rave On” is one of their top 10 covers of the year. I didn’t even know they made a cover of “Rave On.” I LOVE their duo, She & Him, and I don’t mind me a little Buddy Holly either. I even watched the “The Buddy Holly Story” starring Gary Busey on Netflix. 🙂 By the way, She & Him’s Volume 2 will be released on March 23, 2010. It does not contain this cover.

“What’s In It For” by Avi Buffalo

The L. A. Sub Pop labeled Avigdor Zahner-Isenberg (a.k.a Avi Buffalo) and Rebecca Coleman are just high school seniors! Be that as it may, the maturity of their sound goes beyond thier years. They finished recording their debut on December 13, 2009 and are waiting for its release. Check out more tunes here.
