“Broken Arrows” by The Ross Sea Party”

The Ross Sea Party is an LA-based band composed of five friends: Brady Erickson on vocals & guitars; Will VanderWyden on Bass & vocals; Michael Baumer on drums, etc.; Jacquelyn (Jacquie) Thropay on keys, glockenspiel, and vocals; and Mark Tillman on guitar & vocals. The RSP was formed in 2009 and quickly gained exposure on several radio stations, including Santa Monica College’s KCRW. They graced several stages in Austin, Texas for SXSW in March of this year. Singer-songwriter, Terra Naomi, announced her partnership with 1band1brand, a new site that pairs an emerging artist with an emerging fashion brand.

She also made a video for “I’ll Be Waiting” from her june released album To Know I’m Ok. Check out the video on YouTube.

“Satellite” by Brandon Schott

LA based Singer-songwriter Brandon Schott will release his 4th album on October 25, 2011. He calls it “A true satellite project” as it features his good friend (and drummer) Billy Hawn from Pennsylvania and mix/ master collaborations by Jason Wormer, flown in from Portland and New Hampshire.

Sara Van Buskirk: White Linen Nights

In collaboration with the Fresh Arts Coalition, Fitzgerald’s hosted an after party following the White Linen Nights celebration in The Heights on Saturday, August 6. Singer-songwriter, Sara Van Buskirk was one of the performers. She and her cellist, Val Young, often perform solo. On Saturday, however, they brought the band. They performed an excellent cover of “Piece of My Heart” as well as several songs from Buskirk’s album, The Place Where You Are. Please have a listen to “I Wish I Was His Wife” below.

The show included a performance by Benjamin Wesley and DJ Sets from Ceeplus Bad Knives as well. Both are pictured below with Sara Van Buskirk.

“Art Vandelay” by Ducktails (aka Matthew Mondanile)

Prior to playing guitar for the band Real Estate, Matthew Mondanile was Ducktails. He revives the moniker for his latest effort available now on Woodsist Records. If Church Mice reach thier $ 2,000 pledge goal within 30 days, they will begin to mix their debut album Feel The Same. After mixing is complete, the tracks will be sent to Memphis to be mastered by a reputatable industry engineer. Any remaining funds will go towards the production of physical CD’s and albums as well as new media costs.

“Contagious” by Marc Robillard

Singer-songwriter Marc Robillard recently released his sophomore album Left London. In this follow-up to his 2005 debut EP Paper Airplanes, Robillard reflects on his time spent living in England.

“Summer of ’89” by Butch Walker and the Black Widows

The new single “Summer of ’89” from Butch Walker‘s forthcoming album The Spade is available for download on Dangerbird Records. The full-album release date is August 30th. While the song harps on the Dixie Chicks and Bryan Adams, Walker admits to loving both.
